I couldn't be happier with the 100 bare root divisions of "Monroe White" liriope that I planted six months ago under my wrought iron fenceline in New Orleans. It took the usual patience and a modest amount of attention, but the results are 100% success. What kind of attention? Before ordering, I spent prepped the site - deturfed 50'X3' fenceline, doubledug the compacted clay, amended the soil with plenty of compost, etc., all tilled over four times by hand. Planted the divisions about 12" apart circa Thanksgiving - the quality was superb. Set up soaker hose and water deeply when Mother Nature has not. Waiting for Spring was the hardest part.... and started seeing new growth in February, and all 100 plants are thriving now in May (yes, I counted!). The new liriope looks robust enough to withstand N'awlins' intense summer heat, and I anticipate it will fill in the fence line even more quickly than hoped for. No more pesky weed-eating, and I can hardly wait to see blooms... Many thanks to ClassyGroundcovers for such beautiful, quality plants at an affordable price.
