Review of Tennessee Ostrich Fern {Bare Root Plants, min 10}

Followup on ordered Ostrich Ferns
05/22/2016 By J Henry Rodriguez

Ordered and received 10 bulbs quick and packaged well. We followed soil prep and some little organic feed mixture instructions. As of this third week in ground with plenty of Heaven's water & some of our own; we now have 7 plants that are maturing. A 70% factor of success. One never bloomed; two withered after second week. Not as happy as we hoped.

This can happen with bare root ferns. They will send up shoots they had started but those die back until they have a chance to root out. I suggest that you look at the cones and see if they are firm and have new root growth or if they are mushy. They want to be moist but not wet as they root out. It might take more than the three weeks yours have been in the ground for all to get established and send up new shoots.
