The Pennsylvania sedge arrived in good condition, and despite the fact that I wasn't able to water it regularly, the sedge has survived its first year under a large stretch of trimmed spruce trees in suburbia where I am trying to create a no mow native garden area. I like this particular sedge because it is small and does well in dry shade, even on a slope. The sedge spreads very slowly so it takes quite a few plants to fill up the space. Because the sedge is small and dainty, it is important to keep tall, aggressive weeds at bay.
