As the name implies, Big Blue is one of the larger liriopes with evergreen slim grass-like foliage and spectacular spikes of violet hyacinth-like blossoms in late summer to autumn. Big Blue is outstanding as a lush border or pathway edging, in mass plantings, and under trees. Most Liriopes stay in clumps, but (like Liriope spicata) Big Blue will creep indefinitely and fill an area uniformly.

Particularly lovely when in bloom, this classic, iron tough perennial is perfect for difficult sites because it is tolerant of drought and deer and requires little care. Simply put, you just can't go wrong with Big Blue.
