Can't stand Texas Heat

These are beautiful plants but they didn't last. Our 100+ degree heat combined with my clay soil threw challenges at them they couldn't handle. Also we are limited to watering only twice a week. I planted them in a shady spot that only receives about an hour of filtered morning sun. The few that made it through the first winter, didn't make it through that next summer. They also had the heat radiating off of the brick house to contend with. The Hostas and Hellebore on the other side of the sandstone steps don't have that heat to contend with and they are doing fine.
